It’s official, according to the Chicago Sun Times, the city of Chicago has banned Foie Gras. The amazing thing is they did it without Mayor Richard Daley’s backing. Could it be that the Daley’s iron grip on city politics has been foiled by Foie? Read About it!

Well , thank goodness we still have Le Français, Le Titi de Paris, and Carlos’s in the suburbs. And there’s always France. They have refused to ban foie gras, because it’s a cultural icon.
And I agree with Daley — you start messing with one item on the menu, and it’s just a matter of time before you’re messing with everything on the menu. I just read an article last week about a proposal for government rationing of calories as a way of controlling obesity problems in the U.S.
So the question is — when does the ban go into effect, and how much foie gras can I eat before then?
